As we all know, 128k & 256k users are softcapped to 5k/sec and 8k/sec respectively for international downloads. Are there any 512k users here? What kind of international speeds are you getting?

I'm just curious. Nothing more, nothing less.

Someone I know on the 512k package gets full speed international access all the time. Dunno how or why

We hav 512k at work but work is closed at the moment and I dont know the username and password, but I will see what speeds sentech gets their.

I know before the company closed speeds were pretty dismal on 512k

hArTh, thats quite interesting. Not sure why 512k users deserve a better service than the rest of us. We all pay our subscriptions religiously.

vowthorn: I'm interested to hear about your speeds when your work re-opens :)

It's kinda like saying why can Ferrari's do > 300km/h while my Ford laser can't go over 180km/h. The more you pay the more you get. Not sticking up for sentech, it's just life I guess.

but ic, if you went with fuel effeciency the ford has a good chance of being the winner and then you are saying that the less you pay the more you get.
thats insane, it's like saying ISDN is better than sentech. ha! like that is true, we all know that sentech is the fastest and more reliable and thats why it costs more :D

Erm, my argument is that I PAY for 128k so I expect to receive 128k.

I don't expect anything more than what I'm paying for.

well at work I tested the 512 MW and it has improved... Speed wise.
Unfortunately the slave drivers put me to work so I had no time to do
speed test and I first have to kick everyone off Sentech.

So I am planning a super stealth early monday morning speed test and report. I am intersted to see what 512 is throttled at

Dontcha just love the way that Sentech STILL don't have contention, but rather throttling ?

That means you can NEVER reach the possible speeds of a 512 connection, which would be in the region of 50kbps. You may get a burst of speed, but for sustained downloads your buggered.

Rather unfair, to say the least.
