A strange drink

Years ago I went on a cruise on a german ship (Europa) one of the favourite drinks on board was a beer / rasberry concoction.
Raspberry (a tot) pulp was poured into a cognac glass & topped up with a bitter beer.
It was a very more-ish drink that had you rat-arsed & ****faced in no time whatsoever. Anyone have any idea what the drink is called, or has anyone here had it ?

Yea, i think that is it. I remember being told the beer was impossibly bitter to drink on it's own !

We have a similar drink. A submarine, I think it is called. It's basically a tot of pepermint liqueur placed at the bottom of a beer mug and then filled up slowly with beer.
