Hi

Ive been looking around for a decent ISP lately because mweb rip you off for their service, and im really impressed as to what Openweb have got on offer. Im really interested in the 2GB int +30GB local with 192k openbrowse acc, but ive been wondering if the int and local bandwith both count towards the initial 2GB int cap? If so are there mayb future plans at Openweb to split the traffic internationally from locally? This would really be a nice feature!

Yip both local and int count towards your cap. IS and SAIX aren't currently set up to split the two...Doubt openweb can do anything about it at the moment as they are just a reseller of IS ADSL accounts.

I had open browse once, work well and all that, but the fact that you can't download anything makes it not worth it to me. I know OpenWeb been working on a solution for downloading as well, but don't know how far they are with that.

Here is what I do, not having so much cash to through around. I have a 1/10GB account for R99. I save all my big downloads for round about the 20th of each month. At that time I start downloading like crazy in one session and manage to get close to 3GB international. After that I hit the local sources. Manage to get as much as 17GB out of that account in total.

Then for international browsing during that last 10 days of the month, I use a prepaid account from WebAfrica, together with route sentry. 1GB prepaid last me several months and it only cost R70. Plus the added benefit that should I urgently need to download something I can do so, but mostly I would wait till the 1st to download again.

Just an option you could think about.

We have looked into separating local and international traffic, however at this time, it is not cost efficient.

Your best bet, may be to buy a local-only account and an intl account and use route sentry.

Or a Linux box and a few scripts ... :)
