Tell me how do i install programs in virtualbox.i am running windowsxp in it and i simply cant drag drop to the virtual windows desktop. Is there no way to copy past from my desktop to the virtual one.It seems to not work.
I know i can install programs from the cd drive but this is lame:(

Haven't tried usb drive yet, but you should be able to ...

Personally I just use the shared folder(s) on the LAN...

I am running virtualbox with vista and xp is the virtual one...lol..I am busy making portable application and need to do this to have a clean registry.
I still cant fine the shared folder in virtualbox...damn

Try using an IP scanner to find the other PC.

With VMWare I also used the net to transfer stuff...but I think virtualB handles the network differently & its more complicated. The traffic will go via the router and will be fairly slow.

To enable USB control select the virtual machine you want to connect and then go to settings and tick "Enable USB controller" and "Enable USB 2.0 controller"

Then run your VM and insert your flashdisk and select the USB flashdisk under the USB section from the Device menu... It will ask you if you want to install drivers (VirtualBox USB) on the Actual machine and you must click "next" then "continue anyway"... Then go and select the flashdisk under the USB section from the device menu again

thanks tial, but it seems to not work in my case.i have deleted my profile and will be trying xp as a virtual os.I see ppl are having problems on the net with the same issue in vista with virtualbox.
i am busy looking into it on another ubuntu forum

I've managed to get three virtual machines (with virtualbox) to run on win2k3 server ... and each have their own static IP :D

meaning that the PC hogs four IP's, its own and the three virtual machines' IP. :D

i haz ubu... well i still need that on my virtualbox which now is installed :)

*lewks at local ftp*.......

these right ubuntu ?
ubuntu-8.04.1-desktop-i386.iso
