A win for Ramaphosa could cost the DA: poll

A poll run by MarkData this week found that 55% of ANC supporters want Ramaphosa for the top job, with around 30% giving the nod to Dlamini-Zuma.

Unfortunately the ANC top dogs do not care who the populace want to lead the ANC. They will vote for who they are told to vote for and they will like it.
 
Interesting. Could be a pro as Ramaphosa is effective, and might actually with a decent support base get some solid policy in, on the other hand if the rot is as deep as I think it is in the ANC he could be completely hamstrung when he gets in.

The great news is the news that if NKZ gets in they could lose the election potentially.

Still, a coalition government between the DA and EFF would be even less effective at pushing in policy reform than Ramaphosa so I really am not sure which way I want this to go. Strategically there are some interesting options though.

The ANC, even under scrutiny, will always be a threat to the opposition. I don’t like any policy driven by the EFF, they also have severe double-standards when addressing the same topic to separate markets. It is too hard to trust their interests.

Strange how so many EFF voters support Ramaphosa when they themselves strung him up under white capitalism.

Under the circumstances, I will pick Ramaphosa as the ANC president. Besides, I think the DA can get along with the Ramaphosa camp to better drive policy and local governance. It is time to take every SA citizen into consideration…

According to the article,

With Dlamini-Zuma at the helm, almost 7% of the DA’s black voters said they would switch votes to the ANC. However, should Ramaphosa emerge as the top dog, over half (51%) of the DA’s black voters said they would change their votes to the ANC in 2019.

For the EFF, if Ramaphosa becomes leader of the ANC, 43.4% of the EFF’s Black voters say they will vote for the ANC in 2019. Only 3.4% of the EFF’s black voters said they would abandon the party if Dlamini-Zuma was at the helm.

In both cases, a victory for Ramaphosa could have a devastating impact on the EFF and DA’s runs in 2019, RatePop said.

The poll, which uses chat bots to survey people via app or on social media platforms..

So many potential red flags. For instance, are the people on social media platforms representative of the population at large?

I will rather have the DA go head-to-head to hold those areas under contest than to have Dlamini-Zuma reign the ANC elite and Gupta command. We need desperate damage control.

I also question the sample size and test methodology; the strategy and type can easily be trolled. However, a similar test was applied when the EFF entered the national elections and they were quite close to target.

Yeah. The only time I'd want NDZ to win, is if I know it'll cost the ANC the majority - which we all know by now will not happen, as they keep their voters as uninformed as possible.

So yeah, Cyril = lesser of 2 evils.

I think the water crisis and tensions with the city DA may lead to some realignment/change in political parties in the WC before the 2019 elections.
