Has anyone here ever taken their car to AA for testing?
Is it really worth it?
Do they really do what they say they do?

I'm about to buy a second hand car. So I was considering taking it there for inspection.

I'd take it - I take all the cars I plan on buying second hand to them - but I watch them do the tests - don't trust them otherwise.

Takes a few hours though.

I've had a few times where the dealer told me nothing was wrong, and the AA test showed accident damage, once serious.

Now that I think about it - I once had them test a car (Golf 4), and they said no damage - I found out about a year later the back axel was cracked.

I've taken one of my cars there and they are very thorough.

If you're planning on going, be there first thing when they open, that will save you time.

But you have to watch them do the tests, the guy that tested my car pulled of and left a meter of skid marks on the floor..........it didn't end well for him though.

You cannot go wrong with them. Obviously just keep an eye on them. Some individuals can literally ruin a company's reputation because they mess up.

The obvious they will tell you (like body damage ), its a 50/50 as no one can tell you the condition of a car if they dont remove parts and examine.
