I have just switched to Ubuntu and read that America's Army (AA3) is playable on Linux. I have checked the SAIX website and found out that there are AAA3 files there. I am just want to know which files to download and how to install on Ubuntu 9.10. The gameplay manual only list windows os as system requirements.

The earlier versions of AA were supported in Linux. Unfortunately they have removed support in the more recent versions, only publishing for Windows. You could try running the game using WINE.

Maybe I should start looking at WINE for the possibility of playing BF2 although someone has discouraged me.

Dude it is such a mission to get games working in ubuntu regardless of what the fanboys will tell you.

If you want game use windows, simple.

And I was hoping to start a game café using linux because I can't afford windows.

Whoa, you from Heilbron.. lol, used to live there till I was like 9 years old ( Moved to Durbs in 2002) - No offence, but does Heilbron even have ADSL/HSDPDA?? rofl

Well doubt AA3 will run on Linux, especially because it runs with Steam, and I dont think Steam is compatible with Linux. AA3 runs and auto updates via steam.

But you can always try the Deploy version with Wine.
