Abattoir

Morning,

We as a community in Doornrandjies / Laezonia in Centurion are having a bit of a issue, where a developer wants to build a abattoir in our area. Our community is heavily opposed to the development of the feedlot and abattoir and believe that it would spoil the area that we live in.

What we are trying to find out is what can we as a community do to oppose this and how do we go about stopping this development?

One of the neighbors recently bought his plot next door to the proposed site, purely because it is in the country, borders onto a nature reserve, is peaceful and open.

You are on the outskirts of the main towns, so makes sense to build it at the edge of the town.Good luck fighting them.Meat is big business.

Unfortunately you will probably be fighting a losing battle.

You can hope that potentially the development would require a zoning change which you could potentially fight. If its zoned correctly already, and the development falls within the legal parameters for that zoning and town planing scheme your objections will be noted and ignored.

In reply to the emails on the Laezonia abattoir and feedlot, all is not what it seems as it has been determined that various documentation used in the application for environmental authorisation were plagarised by the "environmental specialist".
