If I get enquiry's at work from one of those emails, I ask them to please forward me details of their company using a reputable email. If they dont... sorry buy somewhere else

@CacklinToad: I'm guessing you haven't tried buying Size 42's Chino's at Edgars, Markhams, Stuttaffords etc? My shopping trips are pretty short and targeted . . . Jeep's pretty good . .

On the email matter, as an ex 'corporate' I can tell you right now, I take someone with a [email protected] a lot more seriously than a person with a [email protected] account. It show's you have pride in you business and invest in doing things the right way.

[edit] Tibby - I think you read the post a bit quick, I don't know Rakesh whoever but he doesn't use his gmail account for work, he still uses his own domains:

Also keep in mind WA is the cheapest per gig you'll get in this country at this stage, plus, when you "top up" your 3 gig account with prepaid gigs, those unused megabytes rolls over to the next month. I still have 2 gig left on a 15 gig downloading spree I had last year October when I bought extra bandwidth.

Had 0 days trouble with WA (other than the 1st of November and those days my own stupidity surpassed even the lowest of IQ's)

Tibby - I think you read the post a bit quick, I don't know Rakesh whoever but he doesn't use his gmail account for work, he still uses his own domains:

Never read the blog myself this morning as I had to run out to see clients. But yeah, what you said above is bascially proving the point I (and yourself with the corporate explaination) was trying to make and well who ever this mr Rakesh is he does the same, He uses Gmail to store data (as I also said I do above) but its all relayed through Valid Domain hosted email address.. as to why.. I think we said that enough already.. and in his own words

This is probably the biggest downside. I'm always concerned that this raises the question in people's minds about how legit we are (ie "What, their company isn't big enough to have their own e-mail domain? They use Gmail for email??").

Rather the same concept with email addresses you are advocating.

You're looking at it from a totally wrong perspective. It's not that he's cheap yadadadada. Its an image he portrays with his clients. If his clients know nothing about free email accounts etc, then sure, no image-knock has been taken by anyone. And I agree with you that judging a business by it's email isn't exactly what you'd want but if he claims to be "the best" in something or "the cheapest" or or or or, and want to portray a professional business image, then he needs his own domain with his own mail etc. Period. No two ways about it.

No company in their right mind would contract or give out business to someone with [email protected] address when you hand them a business card that looks like you're professional...
