Absa Internet Banking

I'm not trying ot start a war on who is the best bank, more importantly, as a Software Engineer I am interested to know people's opinions on the new Absa Internet Banking site.

As a seasoned developer I often have the task of assisting older members of the public on understanding and using this "Internet thing". I am finding the new Absa site hard to read, tacky and just not nearly as user friendly as the old one. While I can see the new site lets you perform many payments in one go, I don't find its layout at all easy to follow.

At the company I work at we have been focusing this year and next on usability of our products. We are trying to undo the huge plethora of a system we have built in order to improve user experience.

Does anyone else out there have a similar experience of the new site or am I just getting more and more grumpy in my old age?

I don't have any issue with it. I quite like it. Originally, I was against it but the more I started using it, the more I realised how good it is.

i think the new absa online is much better than FNB. the tab menu allows for a better flow.. FNB loaded with fancy loading grids.. i dont really care if the page is loading

Yes the site is alright. It's the app that could use a redesign.

I'm happy with the site. It is only a banking site afterall, how fancy can it be? You want simple functionality, sure you can make it fancier but then the more compicated the longer it takes to process and more difficult to keep secure.

I don't trust the absa app yet though.

I have to trust the ABSA app as we have a business and I have to make several internet payments and transfers everyday whilst on the road - no issues. The little scrolling wheel to select beneficiaries is a little annoying as I have about 200 active beneficiaries, but I manage to work around that.

I am also not very happy with the new ABSA online banking site and I always select the old banking site when using the website.
