So now if you hit the softcap your port speed is reduced to 1.6Mbit/s - fair, define "softcap" however you want. But then I upgraded bandwidth only to learn the usage during the softcapped period counts towards the NEWLY purchased bandwidth. So I upgraded again but I'm still somehow above the usage cap for my base service. I upgraded again in hopes I can just back my schit up and cancel this new schitty network policy. This has become an absolute joke. I regret shilling your company @Jade @ Absolute Hosting

Nerd rage. A humble apology to @Jade @ Absolute Hosting

Im not quite sure how you want me to respond to this, perhaps this would have been better dealt with via PM.

There are reasons why the softcap is implemented and its to discourage clients from purchasing the smallest of VPS servers and then absolutely abusing the network such as the one VPS server that you had where you used 29TB traffic. Im sorry that you feel this way but fair usage needs to be implemented in scenarios where there is chance for abuse.

I canceled my VPS with absolute hosting. They say I hit the limit of 500GB, the server only did 10GB base on the monitor tool. I do agree with the limit but a turn-off server using 200kb/s is something just plain wrong.
The same server setup else where is reporting correct traffic(3GB in 2 weeks) and similar stats reported by my monitor tool. I just moved on.

That is a massive discrepancy in reporting and something that needs to be investigated, can I ask that you pm me your client code and the monitoring tool that you are using in order for us to run some tests on our side and report back?

@Dark Agent - we've started an investigation on our side into the bandwidth discrepancies that you mentioned here on the forum and we're unable to duplicate this.

We used sample data from a another client who is hosted in the same environment and found that bandwidth usage recorded on our DC firewalls differs by around 1% in comparison to the bandwidth usage recorded on the client area.

Please do send me those details via DM so that we can carry on with our investigation as we'd like find a resolution to this. I did take a look at the tickets on your account with us and found no reported issues.

After discussing the soft cap internally we have revised the speeds and bumped these up to just under 10mbps which should allow clients to continue using their VPS servers with minimal disruption to their experience and other clients on the network.
