I see these being heavily promoted at the moment, Woot, Amazon, TAL to mention a few.
Heck even Progenix has been bundling them up with qualifying GPU purchases

It ranges between R4000 - R5000 brand new from the aforementioned stores.

Specs at a Glance:
Display: 7 inch LTPS display, 1920x1080, 16:9 Aspect Ratio, 60Hz, 10 point touchscreen, up to 450nits
Processor: MediaTek MT8365
RAM/Storage: 4GB LPDDR4 / 64GB ROM (expandable via microSD)
OS: Android 12, running a very similar UI as the Logitech G Cloud
Battery: 5200mAh
Connectivity: 5ghz Dual-band Wi-Fi (2T2R MU-MIMO) , Bluetooth, USB-C, 3.5mm jack
Extras: Hall sensor joysticks/triggers, gyroscope, dual front facing speakers, vibration motors

Looks pretty weak to run anything natively, but it this could be a the answer to local streaming. Unfortunately cloud services are almost non-existent with the exception of GeForce Now powered by Rain that never has any slots available
I've owned a Steam Deck, ROG ally, Numerous Nintendo Switches and lite/s (over the course of a few years) but always found some compromise had to be made. Each device has its pro's and cons. I've always loved handheld gaming, but couldn't compare to my PC setup. For context I don't have any of these anymore, all sold at one point or another but still find myself wishing I had time to play some games when time permits. I literally sit by my PC for a few minutes then duty calls lol. I recently considered an MSI Claw to help bridge the gap but due to budget constraints its just not feasible. I then stumbled on this and thought, Actually, that could work for me if it actually works like they say on paper.

I managed to get one second hand for less than half the going retail rate. Currently waiting for it to arrive.
I'm just wondering why these have been (I wont say flooding) but heavily promoted recently if they are fairly older devices.
Perhaps suppliers got stock at a good discount and now trying to get them out there?
I see the pro is being launched soon but the specs are also meh.

Nice little streaming device that. Can also load up emulation on it up to maybe ps2 games.

In essence it’s an android phone with joysticks built in :)

Very briefly tried the Gamesir X2s with my phone and didn't like the rigmarole chunky DIY solution. In fact I dont like adding controllers to things as an after thought at all.

Since the Abxyulte and by the looks of the Anbernic devices run Android, I can use Tailscale or ZeroTier to accomplish cloud gaming, something I couldn't do with the modded Switch Lite I had recently. Probably not something I'd use daily but nice to know the option exists if I want to use it.

So far I'm pretty stooked I stumbled on this device, seems perfect for my personal use case.
Will let you guys know once I have it in hand and what my overall impressions are like.

After watching reviews:

Pity about local performance bombing out at PSP range.
So, in essence, it's weaker than my 4-year-old Anbernic. Nice try, but solid nope from me, if it could hit PS2 emu, I would have hit the buy now button.

Yeah, local performance looks like it sucks. They could have made it better but would probably drive up costs. The pro doesnt seem that much better but I think it has video out. Begs the question why large retailers seem to be punting them at the moment

Not really.. handheld gaming consoles are the "in thing" and retailers are jumping on the hype train.. what better way to do that, than to offer something at half the price of the steam decks, Rog ally's...
Makes sense. Nice to have alternatives available locally I guess

Yeah, but I'm not asking for high-end, simple N64/PSP emulation, no need for PS2 specs ie: something that cost me R1500 back in 2021 but with a bigger screen.

The PS5/Xbox/Steam remote play for me is secondary; primarily is retro emulation.

Its the other way around for me.
Streaming first and anything else is a plus. Granted mine is second hand and arriving in a few days, paid R1800 for it

Its direct competitor the Logitech G Cloud, seems to be almost double the price from Geewiz, I didnt see any other local stores. You could probably import it but no idea on the costs

Yeah, streaming you’ll be fine.

What’s the review on the actual grip? Is it comfy ? That’s always a selling point for me. Must be comfortable to hold for long periods of time.

I use skull & co grips for all my handhelds.

Looks like its out for delivery today, just in time for the weekend xD

When I picked up the Abxylute One, my goal was clear: reliable game streaming in every corner of the house. I paired it with my TP-Link Deco mesh setup — and then added Artemis and Apollo to the mix. Together, they turned my handheld into a surprisingly competent local-streaming Setup.

Signal stability was top-tier. Even with a few walls and a busy network, the Deco mesh didn’t flinch.

Handoff between nodes was invisible. No sudden disconnects or reconnections

Streaming with Artemis Apollo (the main reason I got this handheld)
Using Apollo on my gaming PC and Artemis on the Abxylute handheld gave me console-grade streaming quality — fast input response, great fidelity, and almost no perceptible lag. And I’m picky.

Apollo's configuration was simple once I got past the initial firewall setup.

Artemis for Android took advantage of the Abxylute’s capabilities, squeezing out every bit of performance from the handheld's hardware. Streaming over local 5GHz with my Deco backbone felt closer to a wired experience than Wi-Fi.
No hiccups, no stutters — just snappy gameplay.

The Abxylute’s display isn’t high-end, but it’s solid. Color pop is decent, blacks are deep enough, and brightness holds up for indoor play. The controls -t they’re responsive and have that “just good enough” feel once you’re focused on the game you don't even think about it anymore.

Battery life was about what I expected — enough for a couple of solid sessions.

The onboard OS feels... unrefined. Navigating settings to optimize streaming isn’t super intuitive, and there’s a bit of trial-and-error when you’re tweaking Apollo and Artemis to play nice but once its setup its a breeze to use

Also, I really wish Wi-Fi 6 was supported. My Deco system can handle it, but the Abxylute can’t quite take full advantage of it.

In my case I think it worked well thanks to the trio — Abxylute One, TP-Link Deco, and the Artemis combo. It’s not plug-and-play perfection, but once it’s dialed in, it delivers.

Truth be told I'll probably gift this on to one of my family members in the near future.
I like gadgets and this definitely scratches the niche itch, but might go for a Legion Go if I can find one
