Does the ac.za domain count towards local or international traffic on your DSL account?

Depends where its hosted - but AFAIK most (all?) are hosted by TENET, ie local.

Yes most( I think all) are local, just tried mirror.ac.za and it routes via my local links.

It's not the domain name but the IP address that determines if it's hosted locally?

Yes but ac.za is allways 99% local since its universities in South Africa and they WILL host it local that I can guarantee!

RogueRunner: Read up on blended usage. On Telkom accounts, it'll first use all the international irrespective of whether its local/intl.

Yeah, but I don't think there are any .ac.za domain names hosted overseas. There are what, less than twenty in total probably?

monash.ac.za is international ...Really sucks, as a lot of the work is stored on their site.
