Accepting ZAR currency using virtumart and paypal

Im using Joomla 1.7 with virtumart and paypal and would want to accept Rands. Unfortunately ZAR is not one of the listed currencies on paypal. I have seen a few commecial modules which do currency conversion but none is freely available. Is there an easier way I can do this ?

Pay fast and monster pay both have Third Party Shopping Cart integrations that you can use and then accepts rands speak to there live support its quite easy
