Access bond cancellation fees ?

The mother of a friend of mine paid of her bond early and then just left it. I think ABSA had this thing that if you have RX in a savings acco7nt you did not pay any banking fees. Eventually after many years, the bank called her and told her they are closing it unilaterally. Did not cost her a cent.
