So I've been using Ethernet over Power for a while now to get wifi to certain parts of the house that battle with signal and I'm finding it a bit unreliable, probably because of my home's electrical setup.

So I thought about buying decent access point, maybe something like a Ubiquiti Unifi AC Mesh AP and then mounting it high and upside down inside my roof. I particularly like this device because its POE powered.

I'm hoping that the wireless signals should penetrate the ceiling easier than the walls, reducing the need for several access points. Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup? The particular device also supports 5ghz and I was also wondering how that would fair in a setup like this.

I use that setup at a number of locations and it works a charm
