Looking for a bit of help.

I have a belgian client holidaying here who uses Skynet in belgium as his isp. His mail server keeps timing out while receiving mail (have set timeout to max in OE). Gets to message 7 or 8 (random) of 30-odds then stalls. If I ping pop.skynet.be it times out too. He can sometimes stay connected and get all his mail late at night, I'm guessing when SAT3 is a little quieter. Would this be the reason? I don't visit Belgian sites as a rule - anyone? This guy tells me Skynet is Belgium's biggest isp. He had the same problem sending mail, so I set his outgoing mail server to smtp.saix.net which fixed that one.

He's using a bog standard telkom ADSL 512 line and local router (Mega 105) at the house he's renting for his hols. Otherwise internet is fine.

His (hot:p) girlfriend has gmail and is not having any problems - more's the pity.:D

Is there a webmail interface he could use?

If he has a gmail account I think there is some way to recieve mail from a pop server in your gmail. Never done it, but maybe try that.

Edit: In Gmail: Settings-> Accounts-> Get Mail from Other Accounts-> Add another Mail account

Yes - he has a webmail interface at Skynet Belgacom, but he can't remember his password:sick:

He also has a european keyboard laptop that runs in french. His English "she is not so gooood..." Trying to forward his mail through gmail would be an almighty task, considering the language problems. And having his password written down on a piece of paper in Brussels doesn't exactly help me either...

But, hey, just trying to do my bit for 2010:)

Thanks.
