Hi all,
I recently had my ADSL line installed as a replacement for my iBurst connection. In the past, the iBurst modem was connected to a wireless router (Netgear WGT624) via the RJ45 cable.
I have bought a new ADSL modem (Netgear DM111PUSP) and currently have it connected to the wireless router via the RJ45 cable.
My problem is, everytime I want to access the ADSL modem's control page I need to unplug the RJ45 from the wireless router and plug it directly into the PC, and then access 192.168.0.1 via Internet Explorer. This is annoying especially if one wants to confirm line speeds, change logins between different ISP's etc.
Is there a way that I can configure both the modem and the router so that I can assign a dedicate IP address for each unit so that I can access either the modem or the router without physically swapping cables?
I should probably have bought a new (integrated) ADSL modem/wireless router but wanted to save some bucks as the wireless router is not that old and serves its purpose well in our home.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Cheers Rudi
