Hi,

I've set-up a VPN server on my Windows 7 PC. My PC is connected to a Wireless Router which is connected to iBurst via a PPPoE connection.

I'm able to connect to my VPN from my phone via wifi but when I try and use my MTN 3G connection, it does not connect.

iBurst told me I have to pay R199/month to have a static IP for this to work...

Is this true?

Not enough info. What router and what VPN software? Do you have port forwarding and DDNS enabled?

1] iBurst Desktop Modem
2] CANYON CN-WF514M
3] I set up the VPN server in Windows under network connections - no 3rd party software
4] Port forwarding - it was enabled for uTorrent but not sure about the Port ranges regarding VPN

You need to have port forwarding on the port being used.

I have used a OpenVPN on iBurst on a Netgear WNR3500L using the tomato USB VPN build.

The only trick was to use the following custom config:

mssfix 1342
fragment 1342
