Hi
a HP Laptopd gives me a error when I want to recover it to the original factory state, Can I access the hidden partion through another PC and extract the files to create disc or put the image on the c: drive?

In windows 7 you have access to the the partitions I located the wim files, how do I install them to the C: I see you can edit it with ImageX

Firstly is there no recovery CD?

Those recovery partitions on HD's are normally created with ghost or similar and are either HD or partition images, to begin with you should look into what recovery software HP are using.

Ja, you are supposed to do it through the recovery CD. There should have been one that came with the puter, or you were instructed to burn them when you first got the laptop.

Hi
There is no recovery CD, the customer did not burn them, I just loaded Vista and his programs to get him up and running, wil order him the recovery CD as I am pretty sure his recovery partition is corrupt. Thanks

with HP you get to press F11 to start the Recovery Process from the recovery HDD partition. You get the option to burn updated recovery CD's once you are in Windows.
