Will insurance cover accidental damage to my car?

If i scraped it against a pillar?

Yes.. but it'll probably be cheaper to fix it yourself if you have a high excess.

(aren't all accidents, "accidental")

Yes but your premiums will go up. I did the same thing a few years ago and opted to pay out of my pocket.

get a quote first, if its less than your excess go with that,


had something similar happen to me before, NOT worth going the insurance route,
also affect your claim history and such things.

For the record, even if you pay out of pocket you're obliged to inform your insurance company and they may well adjust your premium anyway.

Yup, this is something most people don't do and it could bite them in the ass later on.

MIL did the same thing 6 weeks ago.

I got an insurance quote. There was no increase in premium. Depends on your age and history.

Check with your broker.

The increase will come next increase time... a marker has been put on the account..

Tipex works if you want to cover scratches on a white car. Well kinda works.

It works on all colours. It just looks awful.
