Account Activation...Registration...same thing?

I was just wondering if your account is active before you have managed to register online? Maybe the reason I can't connect is because something somewhere hasn't been activated? I know that if I sent a test email to the email account we've set up in the application, it just bounces back.

Your account and your email account are different though. We've been connection fine for 9 days now, but to date I don't have a working email account.
