I have a better chance of being hit by meteor than getting a Neotel account. It all started on Thursday when I filled in their application form online and it crashed on the final step. Now many days and phone calls later I'm still trying to get an account.

What a bunch of morons. You'd think they would make it easy to get an account.

The latest in a series of crazy events is that I now need to pay a deposit. Absa online banking only allows you to pay into the Neotel account through their bill payments section and this requires a Neotel account number. Neotel do not generate an account number until I have paid a deposit. Catch-22. :p

Try using firefox instead of internet explorer and see if the form still crashes.

I would recommend you just phone them up.
Apply for their service, your average wait should be around 48 hours.. .

I seriously think Neotel, should have a Credit Card Section on their website to pay immediately and get EasyPay.

well by phone didn't go too well either but I finally received the modem today, setting it up on ubuntu linux was easy and it's working!

They may be unusually customer-focused but after all they are still a South African company!

@benguela:

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience, but at least we got you connected eventually. Nevertheless, your comments about the online application and deposit payment have been sent to our Customer Services to they can improve the process.

Nice response....:)

I had to pay R1000, clearly I'm high risk. I'm returning the product, it sucks, let's see how efficient their refunding is.
