Accounting Software

Has some good features... I bought it last year but sill haven't started using it, although I imported most of my stock and client details, I haven't used it due to lack of time.. Download the trial and see how it works... Just note that there is a charge for the software (R1695x for 1 user [2009]) and then a per user annual license fee R1650x for 1 user... Price Differs depending on the number of users.. In comparison to software packages that I use for my other businesses its not that expensive...

I also use TurboCash 4, also quiet easy to use, and its free... IF you need multiple users go for version 3.. Also development on ver 4 still continues, ver 3 might have stopped though...

Thank you a lot for this very informative post.

At that price I might as well consider Quickbooks.

But TurboCash seems ideal. Where can I get version 4 (do you have a link to a download perhaps?)

Remember with Fincon you get Serial Number tracking, Workshop module\CRo's etc With Turbocash\Quickbooks\Pastel etc you don't get that (Pastel has serial tracking in higher end versions only)

If you don't need those features than rather go for Turbocash..

http://www.turbocash.net/Instructions/Download is the official, or at least most directly recognised, place from which to download but they're being pissy about it. So, seeing as it's hosted at sourceforge, simply go straight there! Viz: http://sourceforge.net/projects/turbocash/files/

Yeah, I also noticed the part about needing an email address etc etc - didn't feel like spam. Thanks for the sourceforge link!

Don't think I'll be needing any of the extras. The POS system as various analytical tools and should be reliable with sales figures etc - just need to get something for auditing and tax purposes. Thanks again for the help.

Take a look also at Ace Accounting. Locally developed and supported. Very simple to use and they offer a free 30 day license, so you can try before you buy. Their Express edition is only R995.
