Congratulations on the ACDP now taking this matter into it's party....

Speed up alternative to Telkom - ACDP

We are appalled by Telkom's response to the intended new rules to be drawn
up by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) aimed
at reducing the cost of high-speed internet services.

Such rules would not only improve services but also ensure that customers
and small businesses can use these services without suffocating under hefty
charges.

Telkom's arrogance - built on the fact that they are a monopoly -
demonstrates that we urgently need another operator.

ICASA must show its independence and not back down from their intention to
prevent Telkom from overcharging its clients.

We call for urgent attention to be paid to this matter in order to ensure
that South Africans will have a viable alternative soon.

I still believe that the politicians will have a strong say about all of this, and the more parties against Telkom the harder it will be for them :)

Cheers,
Gavin

Notice the deadly silence from the ANC? Why am I not surprised ...

Great response!!!! The DA will learn to regret their decision later, my goodness  ! such a two faced party ...about a month ago they were against telkom

Hi,

The DA is reformulating a stronger response, look out for it in the next day or two. I spoke to them this afternoon and the person that issued the statement was not a expert in this field.

I want to urge every single one of you to phone/email your political party to take this issue up in parliament. It is best if you direct your input to the head of the Communications Portfolio, check their websites for the relevant contact info and if you cant find anything there phone them for the details.

United we stand, divided we fall !!!

cheers

I find this rather shocking. How totally unprofessional! I've lost a great deal of respect for the DA.

Well everybody makes mistakes, it's how you deal with it that matters !!!

Every time you make a mistake do your friends and family loose respect for you ? I hope not.

cheers

There is absolutely no comparision between a political party taking an official stand on a subject and then changing their mind - to my friends, family and myself.

Whats this DeLille womans party called again, I reckon I will vote for them, and shes funny :D

They (the DA) flip-flopped on policy when they see their policy is unpopular, they are a buch of losers who only value votes.
Good for the ACDP, at least they understand the concerns of the Telkom users of SA.

Has the ID (de Lille) people released a statement as yet?

I emailed them a while back to ask them what their possition on telecoms is, but they just emailed back to say that they will get back to me - I'll reply and ask whats happening
