Hi all

Looking for wireless LAN drivers for the Acer eMachines E527. Can you believe there is nothing on their support site? They don't even list the eMachines range - only Extensa, Aspire, Ferrari, and TravelMate.

Think it's the one that Hifi Corp sell for pretty cheap. T3300 Celeron dual core, 1GB DDR3, GMA4500, 160GB HDD.

Would be much appreciated if anyone knows what wireless LAN card it has so I can get the correct drivers.

Many thanks. :)

Thanks a lot. Much appreciated. I'm surprised Google didn't pick that up.

Man I hate when they list several different wireless LAN drivers. :(

Is there a way to find out which one is in this machine?

Wireless LAN Atheros Wireless LAN Driver 8.0.0.305 31.5 MB 2010/04/28
Wireless LAN Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver 5.60.48.35 20.5 MB 2010/04/28
Wireless LAN Intel Wireless LAN Driver 13.0.0.107 12.1 MB 2010/04/28
Wireless LAN Realtek Wireless LAN Driver 2009.0.1216.2009 16.1 MB 2010/04/28

What happened to the original Windows installation? You could have made set of recovery DVD's and one driver DVD that would have all the drivers/software that you would need to factory reset the machine.

Device Manager, right-click on the wireless LAN device entry and click Properties. Google the VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx part of the string under Details -> Device instance ID. Intel is VEN_8086, Realtek is VEN_10EC.

I also suggest downloading from the wireless LAN manufacturer's site, since they always have more recent driver versions than the system manufacturer.

Not sure. It got dropped off with a DVD and without a HDD. Supplied new HDD and doing the install.

Lovely. Good to know. Thanks. :)

Ok. Makes sense. For the future, go to http://www.driverpacks.net and download all the driverpacks and make a Windows XP/Server 2003 driver DVD as well as a Windows 7 32bit/64bit driver DVD. These DVD's will contain thousands of drivers that you can then pop into a drive and let Windows search and install. Saves time if you do a lot of Windows installs.
