Acer Iconia A501

Hi,

Anyone know where I can get an HDMI cable for the Acer Iconia? I've tried Dion Wired, Incredible Connection, Hi-Fi Corp and various computor shops, no luck....

Hi assuming it uses the same type of cable as my Asus (mini on one end and normal on the other). Have a look at http://www.hdcabling.co.za/ they are much cheaper that the other mentioned places...

Don't expect to play 1080p flawlessly on the A500.

Just wondering about 720p mkv's of around 5gb, can it output 5.1 to an amp?

No idea sorry. Try with players like MX Player or DicePlayer. Also test them with the hardware/Software decoding setting to see if that helps. Ive been able to play 720 but cant say what codec was used etc.
