I need to fix my old lady's Acer 4810T, the screen is cracked/buggered. Where do y'all recommend I take it somewhere in Joburg? Btw I don't know where it came from and have no receipt.

There appears to be a suitable screen, just have to verify stock. As to replacement, I've done a few of these; it's mostly about taking suitable care.

Can you confirm that this is the correct model?

Hi there I do have the same problem, but mine has 3 months warranty left on it (and I was told that the warranty does not cover screen damage) the model AS5733

serious guys, replace your own screens, its very easy to do.

Step 1: youtube your laptop and see how to take screen apart.
step 2. take screen apart and check model number at back of lcd panel
step 3. do an ebay search for lcd model - most of the screen suppliers ship overseas.
step 4. replace broken screen with new one

Really easy to do, I replaced 2 screens and I'm a technophobe when it comes to repairs

When you did the replacement, were did you buy the screen, Ebay?

It does appear to be this one

I have always tried to do my own tech repairs and have really buggered things up before so I generally like someone else in the know to do it.

Well, we're in more-or-less the same area and this is right up my alley. Of course it's a billable job but then that means you get to demand a working result for your money.
