Hi all
I am looking to replace my dilapidated Galaxy pocket with a Liquid E3 Duo from Acer.
Overall I seem to be impressed with the specifications and price(R2600 from Orange), though any feedback would be appreciated.
My questions is around the dual-sim functionality:
Is it possible to allocate all data activity to one sim and all voice/sms to the other. For example: if I have a CellC prepaid sim and an Afrihost-mobile sim, would it be possible to route all the data through Afrihost and all calls through CellC.

Thanks guyss

Hi,
I have the Acer Liquid E2 Duo since last year - also got it from Orange for R2,200

The new E3 have slightly better specs for the screen and camera, but retains the same cpu and ram

If you follow the Acer Forums you will see there are big complaints about how the Acer phone handle available memory
It comes with 4Gig onboard but only 800 meg is available to the user due to partitioning of the memory - there is an inaccessible area of 1.6 Gig totally wasted on the phone. Couple this with some apps that cannot be installed on the SD micro card, and you are screwed if you want to put some large games on it.To Root is the only other option

Not sure if the new E3 have the same problem, but since the specs are the same as the E2, I wouldn't be surprised - there is still no official fix for the E2
I see Acer just launched the "E3 Plus" in Germany with 16 Gig onboard memory and this could be Acer's way of solving the problem

Other than the memory issue, it is a very responsive phone and the dual SIMS can be set to work seperately from each other.
I have Vodacom for Voice and Text, and Cell C for Data and battery use is not an issue (about 2 days)

EDIT
My German is not to good ;-) but it looks like there is 2 Gig Ram and 16 Gig onboard on the E3 Plus

Thanks for the reply :D
I was planning to root the little guy anyway, but thanks for the heads up on the memory issue.

I have not been able to find the memory problem on any forums, so Acer might have fixed it for this build.
If I end up getting one, I will be glad to post a mini-review.

I'd love to see it...

Additionally, the Acer UI on top of android also looks pretty innovative...

I seen a cool feature that "muted" applications , like whats app, email etc... at a touch of a button,

also the reverse button seems uber usefull...

Still though, the trump card is that f1.8 camera... Cant wait to see real samples

I got my daughter the E2 liquid from Orange as well. I am impressed for a quad core phone that gets couriered to your door step for only R2214 and a far cry from the crappy specced Samsung's and um......Samsung's for the same ballpark price. ( I see the price has dropped a bit) Best bang for your buck. She has installed some big games already. Angry birds go 160 megs I think. Plants vs Zombies 2 320 megs and a lot of others. No issues so far. UI is also nice. she has a data sim and a sim for voice calls. So in essence it can use separate sims for voice and data. It has 2 different IMEI numbers

Very cool,

Acer UI looks pretty and a bit more custom than the rest of the market. Glad to hear the Memory problem is seemingly non existence at this stage, also the dual sim is a pretty interesting feature...

The Specs are Awesome and BEST BANG FOR BUCK

I am most intrigued by the Camera of the E3....really would like to see it in action.
