Acer unveils 3-SIM smartphone

What? Where will this stop, 4 SIM? At least this way we can keep all 4 SA Cell phone providers in business...

....actually I like this and makes perfect sense(presently) for those on pre-paid to take advantage of the numerous specials on offer from the 4 mobile operators.Question is, is it tri- stand-by,how many of the sim slots support HSDPA etc etc?

Nice. One sim prepaid specials or private, one sim standard business contract and the third sim Afrihost data only.

Would be worth it depending on features.

In a case like this, how easy is it to change between data / voice ?

I had cheap chinese dual sim phones. No issue as both sims were always active or in standby and I presume three sims will be the same. We will have to wait and see won't we?

The real trick is getting a decent phone like a Samsung Galaxy with Dual SIMs. They are available in countries like Dubai, not here in SA for obvious reasons.

They're getting worse than the shaving industry! .. although with vodacom you've always needed the lubrastrip ...

It's all in the sim management(software),whereby you get to chose which Mobile Network's Sim will be used for data(always the slot that supports 3G Network 850/900/1900/2100) and on Chinese phones CDMA 850/2100.

+1

There's plenty of Chinese knock offs that have 4 Sims, and for a years now, so I don't see the huha in this...

This would be perfect for my needs. 1 personal 1 business 1 data
