I'm 4 non-combat pets away from finishing the petopia achievement (25 non-combats) which rewards me with a skunk pet lawl
havent gotten around to buying 50 mounts for the albino drake yet though

Some of those achievements are buggy. There is one where you have to fall 65ft without dying. I jumped from one of the side-branches at Darnassus (down the waterfall behind the portal to Rut'theran) and it is a lot more that 65ft. It took about 30 seconds of falling before I hit the water, but I didn't get the achievement.
I had to jump from the one outlook in SW harbor to get the achievement.

Taurens got the short end of the stick there. I'm exalted with UC and close to Silvermoon exalted but I can't buy the mounts from them.

Its the Game WoW is ripping its Siege PvP and Achievement's(aka Tomb of Knowledge) from, you should get out more

Tell me about it. So far I have managed to collect
6 Kodos
7 Tabulks
5 Wyverns
6 Netherdrakes
7 Wolves (counting the 1 from AV)
1 Death Chargers Reigns
3 Quiraj Resonating Crystals
That is 35 in total. I still need to farm my skyguard rep (at revered now) and then I can get 6 more. It's just not fair.
On the other hand, I managed to finally scout out the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms giving me the grand total of 225/750and 2490 points

As for siege warfare and even achievement systems, Warhammer have not invented either consepts... I guess I get out a bit more than you

Yea true Warhammer didn't invent siege warfare,Mythic did back in 2001 with Dark age of Camelot 
As for Achievements, its just a weak version of Tomb of Knowledge at it's best anyway

As for the achievements, we've got several guildies who are pursuing achievements constantly.
One of em has the Albino Drake and several of the others are pushing for Loremaster.
I know at least 2 of them have Ambassador too.

312/750 - 2810 points at the moment... Still havent touched the pvp achivements yet since the cyclone BG is a walking death trap for alliance at the moment only got the grim reaper one after doing the G.R.O.I.D.S achivment for halloween.

Damn and there I were thinking Siege warfare was first used in China or some middle east culture
Point is it is hardly a new consept, and can be found in almost every online game, they bombing runs in wow, is also a form of siege warfare...The achievement system may be a ripoff but, I think they could have taken more useful stuff from war than that... It is just another time sink...
