:confused:Hi all, let me start by saying that I'm not very good with a PC and rely on this site for all my advice.
I have been using 2014 and now 2015 in a very non expert manner and have backed up to a 1TB HDD as follows:
Outlook, Files and folders and my documents once a week.
Drive image once a month.
Today I get the message that my backup drive is full and need help in how to proceed. Too scared to delete from it as I'm not sure what to do. Is it safe to delete that drive and start again or what?

Don't just delete files

Hit the restore button. You'll get a timeline along the bottom. Select an old version, right click on it and select delete version.

Thanks for the reply Sinbad but I think that i may have made a complete stuff up.
I first used 2014 and then earlier this year upgrade to 2015 and the interfaces were different and i'm totally confused what to do.
What if I was to reformat the ext HDD and start all over again? Good or Bad?
My needs are not great as I'm a home user and need to backup Outlook, contacts and emails, My Documents and all the usual stuff. I also need to image or clone my C: drive to save my software. Can you recommend a fairly simple routine I can follow?

If you reformat your external you'll obviously lose all your backups.

Use the method I gave you to clear out older backups rather.

Sinbad, my apologies for being so obtuse but when I got the message Disk Full i just shut it down and removed the HDD.
To find RESTORE must i perform back up again until i get the same message?

No
Plug the disk back in

Then start up your trueimage program
go to the list of backups you have defined
On that list is a restore button for each backup definition

Click the restore button. It will present you with a list of versions along the bottom.
Select one of the older ones, right click it, select delete version.

It's a bit counterintuitive having to go into the restore tool to delete a version, but there it is.

Done and dusted, thanks a lot. I really must try and learn more about this. Never quite sure what I am backing up.

From the normal File Explorer in Windows, double-click on the TIB image file and browse it as you would a normal disk. Check if the files you want are there.

Btw, you can cut and paste straight from the backup image.
