activated drifta - return

so my mom wants to get me a drifta for xmas (aaah nice) and she will activate on their premium package...

...now if i bring it back home after xmas and it has some signal issues (which might happen if you consider the dodgy cell reception here), can i/she return it for a full refund even though it has been activated?

also, is the mnet on drifta exactly the same as on std dstv
 
firstly make sure that you have signal where u stay,


mnet on mobile is different, but close enough, from about 17:00 to 23:00 Its basically the same, the rest of the time it plays promos

the other channels ( discovery , Sony max , series, etc) are all the same
 
according to the coverage map, i am covered. however, the complex i live in has duplex units so think the buildings sometimes block the signal
 
if you can, get the drifta, it has WiFi, so you can put the device where you have signal, and access it via WiFi

also, make sure your phone / tablet is supported, and not rooted

if you using iPad , jailbroken is less of a problem, there is a app out to "hide" the jailbreak
 
tested my boss' drifta on my phone (at work) and it works fine...

...i am just worried about the possible signal issues the drifta might experience in the complex (wifi on my phone from the router seems to have a 8-10m radius) so that may help

still worried if i can return it to incredible corruption, if it doesn't work
 
It's a pain to get it unlinked (almost impossible) once activated. I doubt Incredible would take it back. Have heard of cases at work where Multichoice have taken returned decoders and drifta's in from retailers, but very few.
