Activation Lock on iPad

I have an old iPad 2 that my daughter uses to play games on and watch movies etc when she in in the car.

The other day I see that the Activation Lock is on and it wont accept my Itunes account details when I try to unlock it. This feature is supposed to work in conjunction with the Find my iPhone app if your device is stolen or lost but I have not used this app and its not installed on this device.

Also when I connect the device to my laptop using a USB cable it does not connect to my Itunes account on the laptop.:confused:

Any solutions or should I bin it and claim from my insurance?
 
Do you still have your original invoice? If yes then visit the Apple store and they can help you unlock it.

If you haven't enabled find my iPad then this should do the trick - just put it into recovery mode and wipe it.
