AdBlock recommendations?

2xPiholes in my network - backing each other up and manage to get rid of most / all ads for all devices

I prefer a cloud-based DNS ad blocker over Pi-hole because it doesn't require maintenance and works even when you're not on your own network.
I get around the off-network aspect by using Tailscale as an exit router

Set once and you take it with you, I suppose some still need to think even more outside the box than my internet is only at home.

There's a pretty sweet deal with controld at the moment where you get ultimate for about 17 usd p/y instead of 40.

A)
Take this one

1. Add to cart
2. Enter coupon code SMS10 which takes it down to 36 usd
3. Complete transaction

B)
1. Then after you've gotten the code and redeemed it: control -> select some control -> enter code and finish
2. click on click on upgrade on your existing 5 year some control plan, select ultimate which now will be changed at 10 usd p/y

Of course this brings the total yearly cost to
36 / 5 = 7.2
7.2 + 10 = 17.2
saving 22,8

The deal is good. I purchased it a year ago. You only need to upgrade to Ultimate if you want to change your geo location.

Lately, I've been having trouble with ad blockers messing up on sites in Edge and Chrome. Plus, I'm dealing with YouTube buffering a lot, and it seems like ad blockers might be causing it, even when they're off for YouTube and I've got a premium sub. What ad blockers do you guys use for Chrome, Edge on Desktop and Safari on iOS?
Youtube buffering seems to be a seperate problem. I have Youtube premium and without ad blockers on a 1gbps fibre line (afrihost) I have had buffering problems for at least 10 days now. Afrihost says they have reported the issue to Google (and are dependent on Google to fix it).

Watching 4k and especially 60fps 4K is pretty much impossible in evening hours. Really running out of patience.

The code SAVEBIG20 will give you 20% off.

Yeah I’ve noticed my Google traces are super high lately… up to 300ms at times

Even on my Android box with the YouTube app and Premium subscription, I am at times not even getting 1080p on Auto on a 100/100 line.

This used to default to 1080p or higher immediately. It does work after a second or 2 of buffering if I manually adjust.

"uBlacklist" is great for blacklisting sites in google search results.

I use it for these sites which normally completely spam up any image search I do (especially local image searches):

*://*.ubuy.za.com/*
*://*.importitall.co.za/*
*://*.wantitall.co.za/*
*://*.desertcart.co.za/*
*://*.pricecheck.co.za/*

*://*.aliexpress.com/*
*://*.wish.com/*

Thanks!

I've been trying out ControlD for the past few days, very happy with it, also swapped out AdBlock and AdBlock Plus for uBlock origin. So far, so good.
One of the better things; not only being able to seamlessly take it with you is that you can go per device and then for each device a profile. e.g. I'm running "default", and then "default-nividiashield" for its own bs.

Additionally I use "PopUpOFF" which blocks those irritating overlays which seem to be on every website nowadays
Doesn’t that cause issues with the cookie acceptance pop-up, I was using something similar and it broke quite a few websites because it would hid the cookie popup and then the site would be unresponsive because you hadn’t accepted the cookie policy?

Something fked up is happening with Google in South Africa, I’m also getting that on my Android at box and iPhone with various google apps, the internet will be perfect but google just won’t load or at a snails pace
