ok, this is going to sound very dumb, as i don't know the tech terms for what i want to do.

but basically on my pc system, i have 2 dvd writters and one hdd, when i have to get data from my 2nd hdd, i have to unplug one of the disk drives and connect it to the 2nd hdd.

now my question, the pin connectors (think its 24 pin), i only have 3 of the long ones (there is an open smaller one), is there a way i can add more so that i can run 2 drives + 2 hdd?

strange enough i have more than enough power connectors

If you already have 2 DVD writers and 2 Hard Drives on an IDE motherboard only (i.e. no additional SATA connections - the small red or black ones), then you have reached tha maximum the board can take.

The long black connector is the IDE (40-pin) and the smaller red & black are the SATA. Almost all motherboards made prior to 2006 have at least 2 IDE connectors, with a shorter, smaller version for the floppy drive.

However, you would be able to purchase a PCI expansion card that will allow you to add up to 2-4 more hard drives, either IDE (ATA) or SATA.
