Adding a forum

Hey everyone.
I need to add a forum on a site that I am currently working on. I have looked at flarum and though I like it, it bothers me that it's only beta. Any alternatives I could look at?
OSS or free.

I'd suggest phpbb but I prefer to write my own software so I normally do that. Don't suppose I could interest you in purchasing a forum from me?
