Try and get 20mm CLIPON saddles (they look like BIG phone cable saddles), the normal hospital saddles are too much of a fuss, you have to drill a whole to fit them, the CLIPON saddles just needs a hammer. On a 1m length I would not worry too much. If you want to make it look good, get a 20mm spring bender and give the pipe a ofset at every end, some practice required, but not too hard, rub the pipe to make it warm before bending it.
