Ok....so currently I have 2x1 OCZ DDR2 800 XTC rev 2 modules in my PC. Now despite the fact that I am currently running XP 32bit later on in the year I will most probably switching to win 7 64 bit system. Now I have decided that I would like to add another 2x2GB kit of OCZ DDR2 800 XTC rev 2 modules to my system making 6 GB in total. Should this be able to work without issues..(Other than my system only picking up 3.2/5 GB)?

Thanks

Yes. If you have slots for it, windows 7 will pick it up. Windows XP won't pick up more than what you mentioned ie the 3.25GB of RAM. :)

Lol...yes I know that which is why I mentioned it :) My concern had more to do with the compatibility of the old 1gb modules with the new 2gb modules but seeing as they are practically identical I hopefully don't think there should be any problems.

I know, but yes it will work.

it will work in most cases, but if it doesnt work then it's an issue with your motherboard. some boards won't boot up with more ram unless you change voltages in bios . . .

My current ones are set to 2.1v so I will do the same for the new ones. This being the recommended V from the OCZ techies. Its a Asus P5K so I don't foresee too much problems.

well thats a sweet board, i dont foresee any snags

asus ftw
