Anyone on the forum know the names of additives that can be used (for older cars) in conjunction with Unleaded Fuel? Also, where to buy them & how much they should cost (i.e. suggested retail)?

Lead Replacement Fuel (LRP) is now no longer available anywhere - finally been phased-out according to the garages near to where I live.

Edit: should maybe have headed it up ''Additives for ULP''

I believe it's up to the individual service stations whether or not they want to stock it (based on demand). There's still plenty available in the Western Suburbs.

Thanks, Mick.

It was in fact at a Sasol in the western part of the city that a guy gave us the impression it wouldn't be supplied anymore, anywhere. Will check with other service stations in the area.

Eish, drove my UNO for around 3 years on ULP with no issues, just don't make it to sudden a change (1/2 tank ULP half tank LRP first time).

1/2 tank ULP half tank LRP first time.

Will try that out - however, some car manufacturers warned that certain models of theirs couldn't take a drop of ULP under any circumstances.

The Caltex service station next to the library in Linton Grange certainly had LRP last week and I'm sure they'd tell me if they were intending phasing it out.

If you run out of LRP options go and buy a bottle of William Penn Upper cylinder lubricant. You add a bottle to each tank - it's an expensive option, but the only other route is to have your head redone and have the valves changed to ULP spec.
