so i've noticed after a bit of playing mw2 my cpu temps rise to the 70s...

...so how do you adjust (ie increase) the fan speed

my gpu comes with some sort of nividia s/w that you can control the fan speed of the gpu, so the gpu never gets too hot, but the cpu gets wicked hot

my mobo : p4m900t-m
cpu : e4400

What's the max for that CPU? cos they designed to run at those temps me thinks. My core i5 hits 70 every now and then at full full load. Nothing to fuss about. Otherwise you can go into the bios and change the Q-fan settings to Turbo or something

according to hardware secrets it is 73.3, and i've seen the one core (according to SIW) that it reached 76.something

maybe i should invest i a strong 80mm fan

Stock heatsink? If those temps bother you then it might be worthwhile looking into a better heatsink.

I'm sure the fan on there is running flat out anyway.

Get yourself a CM Hyper 212 or something. Goes for around R250 last time I checked. Stock cooling FTL :P

i was also looking some other cooling options. is it just a matter of replacing the std cooler with the new one ie chip out and chip in - that is ofcourse if the new cooler designed to fit my 775 mobo

lol...

...and with me going to order a new cpu fan, i need a new psu as well as mine gave its last breath
