Those of you that managed to synch at 640kbps - would you mind revealing your upstream line attentuation and noise margins, please? I assume that is the only reason certain people can only synch at 512kbps like I do...

lol, you guys all know, that photonman by having our telephone number knows like almost everything, our names, street address, banking details.... lol... and we all seem to trust him :)

Who cares? Ever heard of a telephone directory, plenty of numbers in there for him...

Thanks man

Thanks for trying, photonman. Is the reason I can't sync at the higher speed because:
1. we have an older tech dslam in parkhurst (or rosebank or wherever the thing is located) OR
2. our house is too far from the exchange?

or is it something else (like something I can correct?) Is there anything I can do to improve matters - I look at the speeds everyone else is achieving and drool!:(

We get very high CRC errors on downstream... this is connecting at 1504 downstream and 384 upstream.

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 5.5 dB 12 dB
Line Attenuation 58.5 dB 31.5 dB
CRC Errors 22411 0
Latency Fast Fast

lol u must be VERY far from the exchange and have a very noisy line!

hay, you are standing in the exchange with your laptop plugged into the DSLAM :)
No cheeting even if this is your thread :0

br34k: Thank you for sharing. My upstream figures are SNR: 14dB, Att: 12dB (downstream SNR is 25dB, Att is 19dB). Wonder why I can't get 640kbps (no, I'm not bitching and moaning, just wondering)!

Eish @ photonman's 960Kbps upstream! Is your line stable at only 10dB SNR?
