I've seen this mentioned a few times on myBB, but how does one go about getting > 10mbps ADSL without VDSL?

My router suggests that I can sync at 17mbps using ADSL, but Afrihost says that the line speed is limited to 10mbps (even though I live in an area which is supposedly under VDSL coverage. I'd happily pay the extra R25 to sync at 17mbps instead of 10mbps. How do I make this happen?

Start by sending a PM to the Telkom Rep on the Forum.

I came came back from work one evening and there about 5 Telkom promo people going door to door selling 20mbps packages, as the area had just been upgraded. I was just asked if I wanted and said 'yup'! :)

Thanks. What did you ask for when you applied for it? Afrihost wouldn't do the upgrade to 20mbps because they said it wouldn't work.

Yes, but Afrihost is exactly a good ISP.

Just tell the rep what you told us in your OP.
