ADSL accounts - premium vs advanced?

Advanced has 4x simultaneous connections + 5 email addr's + 5aliases each + 10MB Unix Web Space.
Premium has 2x simultaneous connections + 1 email addr + 5 aliases + 5 MB Unix Web Space.
Both are 512 up 256 down 3GB.
Well - last time I checked anyway.
 
Premium offers 4 email addresses, 4 concurrent sessions, and 10 MB of personal or business web space which allows for domain name pointing at a charge

Advanced offers 2 email addresses, 2 concurrent sessions, and 5 MB personal web space
 
Err.. okay.. However is there any technical difference in terms of connectivity?

Looks like the same
"4 connections" thing is marketing speak.
 
4 connections is not a market thing. It means that 4 different ADSL modems can dial in on the same username at the same time. Which means there is 3x more risk of somebody else abusing your username.

Except 4 the above, Technical difference = none, apparentleeeeeeeeee.
 
Go with Advanced and make damn sure they don't charge you for premium, like they did with me.

Ahhh ok

So next question, why would anyone buy ADSL from an ISP versus direct from Telkom then? They are basically one of the cheapest anyway.

IMO, to reduce Telkomonopoly's profit margin (by a microscopic amount), bcos the markup on the wholesale price that Telkomonopoly charges ISPs does not go to Telkomonopoly, it goes to the ISP.
