Just got adsl a few weeks ago, and so far everytime it rains (which is quite frequently nowdays) its just goes to hell (almost impossible to browse, impossible to download or play games... frequent disconnects)... its raining now and this is what a ping to google looks like :

Pinging www.l.google.com [66.102.9.99] with 32 bytes of data:

Anybody else have this? Its VERY frustrating :(

If its the rain, you obviously have open wires thats getting wet.

Call the Telkom-police.

I had that exact problem with my uk dsl when it was first installed.

BT *british telecom* my phoneline provider fixed it a few days after i reported the problem to my isp. Turns out where the phoneline connects to my house there was a cut in the wire's protective covering so rain was getting in that was all that was causing it lol.

So glad I read this thread, I know someone from the states that thought it was hilarious that rain could disrupt an entire office blocks' DSL, "only in SA" they said, now I guess I know why
