ADSL and Satellite

I totally agree. We should NOT have to fork out more money to get a decent service. R1000 a month is a heck of a lot of money for the average person to pay for an internet connection. Therefore our R1000 should buy us exactly what we need our internet connection for.

There uses to be a internet company in durban called lia (club internet) i dont know if anybody can remember them. They mainly use to do satellite connections. I think they were the first to start satellite for home. With them i always used to get 80kb/sec with satellite until mweb bought them out and decreased the the satellite bandwidth. After the takeover download max is about 40kb/sec so im wondering has anybody ever tried to buy two satelite accounts and get them to increase your sat bandwith. Satalite download is defenitly restricted overseas satallite gets up to 120k/sec on 56k modem i have seen this for myself in england and they also use there sat card for watching tv programs from other countrys.

Lastly what is the fastest download for adsl by itself and satellite by itself that anybody has seen from there pc

My speed test for sat is 100.44 kbits/sec now is a dual sat bandwith were possible it would be fairly close to adsl an possiby cheaper not to sure havent quite worked out fiqures to phone costs i download about 3 gig in a week so the cap would just kill me.

I use ADSL and i've hitted up to 58kb/sec single connection.
i've got this on local ftp and overseas http. never seen above 58k with current ADSL.
