Please bear with me, I'm not very knowledgeable on networking. My current setup is as follows -

- WISP internet connection. This comes into house via LAN cable connected to Mikrotik 750 routerboard.
- The Mikrotik is connected via LAN cable to my DGN2200 Netgear wireless router/modem.
- I have a Dlink switch connected to the router - PC, server, Apple TV connected to switch.
- Everything works perfectly.

I also have an ADSL line, but rarely use it as speeds are **** due to an congested exchange (getting approx 0.4Mbps on 4Mbps line). It is all but useless as a work solution and the ADSL cable isn't connected at the moment.

Speeds do however spike early mornings and sometimes during weekends so I'd like to have the ADSL also connected as bandwidth costs are much lower for downloads.

Preferred scenario is to have it permanently connected and somehow direct the server to the ADSL connection so that I can let it run downloads overnight.

In short, how can I switch between ADSL and WISP. Is this easily achievable without having to plug/unplug a lot of cables?

Do you have access to the routerboard. You can probably do policy based routing on the microtik router OS.
Also maybe look at PPPoE turn your adsl modem into modem mode and initiiate the PPoE connection from your PC.
That should override your WISP connection.

OK I'll just unplug the cables. :p

Thanks, have now idea what you're talking about, but I will take your advice and prostrate myself before [-]the information gods[/-] Google and see what I can manage. :)
