A note of warning -

Be verrrry careful on the words you choose when you speak to the super intelligent person at Teklom.
The words:
"I want to cancel my ADSL line so that it is a normal line again." is translated into "I want to cancel my line". When you ask the super intelligent person if only the ADSL portion is going to be removed - don't believe them when they say yes.

Then - they want to charge you a reconnection fee.
LOL.

I am remaining disconnected.

The more you know - the worse it gets.
 
this is nothing new ... In the effort to 'provide you with excellent service' they can do a LOT to ruin your day ... I just had my telephone line knocked out by lightning, but the ADSL was still fine, it took them a week and a half to send someone out to fix it, when he fixed it my phone was ok but the ADSL was broken. As you can imagine I was very happy about this. I called telkom and they said I'd have to wait about 2 weeks for someone to come and fix my new problem. As this made me even more happy, I phoned the telkom tech guy on his cell about 15 times in two days untill he came out himself and fixed it on his own time ....

One thing you have to remember with telkom/government employees, they get payed bugger all and they don't really care, so you have to be VERY calm and VERY patient ... if they sense thet you are getting upset they will mess with you just for a quick power trip for themselves ...
