Sunday 14 December - both me (Rondebosch) and my bro (Rondebosch East) have slow to non-existant connections for both local and international traffic. Anyone else having similar problems? I'm connected via ISDN atm - this site wouldn't even load via ADSL.

Thing is.. Telkom support insisted with my bro that problem is at he's end - when I called, they said there's a "yet unconfirmed problem with ADSL in Cape Town".

yup, im in cape town and had problems with all local sites. my international link was fine tho.
it all seems to be fixed now tho

Yeah - gave up about 5pm - went to watch the sunset off Chapman's Peak :) - came home about 7pm and all was well.

Well I'm in Durban and although my International surfing is acceptable, locally sucks bad.
For instance MyAdsl takes just under 2 minutes to come in and its been like this for about a week now.
Upload speeds to Mweb Servers average 2.1k

Currently I would be a lot better off with a 56k modem connection.

Even when I disco'd - I was allocated the same i.p afterwards. Even tried logging on with a different account. Like I said, all's well now and we seem to be on a much faster link with international latency still in the 200-300ms range.

Well, we are in PE, and my current speed (off the speed test here on Myadsl) is currently :

your speed is

5.32 kbits/sec

I have other friends that are on adsl in PE and they tell me that the speed has been screwed since yesterday morning - and I have now been on the support line for nearly 15 mins with no answer ... typical ...

19 Jan and all hell broke lose on adsl cape town. No Yahoo and NO hotmail. Where does the problem start? TELKOM? PLZ help!

yip same problem here. Tried to report it, but they said since no one else has complaid the problem is my end!

I'm having problems as well. Some international sites but not others. Very odd indeed. At first I thought it was on my side, but it's definitely a Telkom related problem because I am having problems on both machines which connect via adsl and not the machine that connects via satellite. So who knows.
