ADSL connected only working during business hours

Client moved to Rivonia, just off Rivionia road. The ADSL modem was connected yesterday morning and I monitored it since 3:30PM. I noticed that the connection became erratic since just before 5PM, with frequent disconnects, until 8AM this morning when it stabilized again. Same thing now since 5PM for the last hour. It is quite peculiar that it is stable from 8-5, any ideas?

Maybe peak-hour traffic, or some oke's having a LAN party every night ;0)

Is it a clean line no alarm or other service connected after hours ?

Have you tried just modem connected ?

Interesting thought, the previous tenants did have some kind of alarm system installed, some of the equipment remained behind. Otherwise there is nothing else on the ADSL line, just goes straight into the modem.
